A STORM IS A STORM, IS A STORM!

Big Snow Storm

Over a decade ago, I considered moving from Arizona to Colorado but the snow scared me away.  I decided to move to Oregon and fell in love with the ocean.  It snowed very little where I lived but when it did, all the schools would close because nobody knew how to drive in the stuff, including the school bus drivers.  So, being a teacher….. I got snow days too!!  Oh how lovely it was to enjoy a day off from work while looking at the snow outside and sipping hot cocoa by the fireplace. Snowstorms in Oregon are nothing compared to the snowstorms in Colorado!!

Since I am now a resident of Colorado, I have to tell myself, “You can do it! You can do it!” while driving around town on the scary snowy streets.  Each time I drive in the snow it gets more familiar but not a whole lot easier.  I still feel anxiety.

During the snowstorms of your life, you will find that they often feel familiar but are not always easier to traverse.  Every trial has different challenges and pains to endure.

It does not matter what kind of storm you are experiencing: hurricane, tornado, earthquake, or flood as all storms are a hardship.  Yes, but let us think positively, all storms are opportunities to grow in faith and in your relationship with Father God. There is a purpose behind the storm, even though you might not know what it is and faith must carry you through it.  Storms are storms and they are just plain difficult.  However, they can be easier to get through if you allow others the blessing of ministering His love to you, and if you are on your knees praying.

Be encouraged when you remember that seasons come and they go.  Winters, like the storms of our lives, will eventually move into warmer and calmer seasons that actually produce fruit.  Take one step at a time.  You WILL get through the eight feet snowdrifts and reach the final destination He was planned for you.

MATTHEW 8:23-27     And when He got into the boat, His disciples followed Him. And behold, there arose a great storm on the sea, so that the boat was being swamped by the waves; but He was asleep. And they went and woke Him, saying, “Save us, Lord; we are perishing.” And He said to them, “Why are you afraid, O you of little faith?” Then He rose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. And the men marveled, saying, “What sort of man is this, that even winds and sea obey Him?”

PSALM 34:17-20     When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. He keeps all his bones; not one of them is broken.

Luke 21:36 "Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man."
