God Rebukes His Children

Can a child of God sin? Yes. Can a child of God sin and not suffer? Absolutely not.
If you are living in sin and God does not rebuke and convict you, I wouldn’t give half a hallelujah for your hope of heaven. If you’re a child of God and in sin, God will rebuke you. God will convict you.
Sometimes people have the idea that God just tosses our sin away. Well, those people have it 180 degrees wrong. God doesn’t toss sin away if you are a child of His. When you sin, God puts His hand on you and squeezes. If you are living in sin and know that kind of pressure, you better thank God for it.
If God convicts you with His heavy hand, then you need to say, “Thank God! He loves me too much to let me go on!” Proverbs 3:12 says, “For whom the LORD loveth He correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.”
Conviction by God’s Spirit is a mark that a person is saved. Hebrews 12:6-8 says, “For whom the Lord loveth He chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom He receiveth. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.”
The most miserable man in the world is not an unsaved man. The most miserable man in the world is a child of God out of fellowship with God.
