End Times…

Obama backs gay marriage

In an exclusive interview, the president says same-sex couples “should be able to go ahead and get married.”

Anyone need more evidence that the impending end of all things is near? This is more then a little sad that an American President has come out in open support of gay marriage. Does not the bible say marriage is between one man, and one woman?

Shame on you President Obama for endorsing something that should have never been allowed or even thought of. I have to say I am totally disgusted at this news, but not surprised.

Marriage is a covenant between a man, a woman, and God Himself. It is not a union between two men, or two women. Never was, never will be. Because it is allowed, does not make it right.

What is this country coming to that the President of the United States, endorses gay marriage?

  1. Greg, I am going to request that you prayerfully review the EXACT words of the POTUS on this issue. He is addressing it from a constitutional law point of view in keeping with separation of church and state. I see where you are coming from about unions between two members of the same sex in Christian terms–but the Christian faith is NOT the established “state” religion in this country. It just isn’t–and we Christians are told by our Lord to give unto Ceasar what is Caesar’s. See what I mean? I have just always been more than grateful, as were my own parents, that none of my children were born with less (or more!) than a “normal” range of hormones to match up with their outward sexuality! I DO firmly believe that everyone, everyone, has free will about what they DO with their sexuality but does not have any say so in what blood chemistry they are born with!

    • Rose you are a wonderful woman, and I respect you greatly, but I have to disagree with you on this one.

I hear what you saying, however…I still say that our President backing same sex marriage is wrong. Marriage is defined as one man, and one woman. If the law goes against the bible, then the law is wrong. The bible specifically states that God does not like homosexuality. It follows therefore that gay marriage is also wrong.

There is no state religion, nor should there be. However, that being said…we believe the God we serve is the only God, and regardless of separation of church and state, what God says is right, regardless of what laws are passed, or who backs something that is clearly wrong. If Obama is doing this to win votes, that does not sit well either with me.

This is no different then when I drank, a lot. I was free to be an alcoholic and was one, but that does not make it ok. In the same way, people are free to do what they want with their sexuality, that does not make it right or ok.

  2. Thank you Greg, for writing this. I agree completely. The Bible is clear on God’s view of marriage. This country was founded on Christian faith and Biblical principles, and for our President to come out and say that same sex marriages should be allowed is almost as bad as when he said that this country is not a Christian country.

If you want to read some interesting articles on the history of this country go to http://www.allabouthistory.org/ There are quite a few articles and videos on how the government rewrote laws and twisted the constitution to shove God out of everything. Check out the articles on “School Prayer”, “Prayer in Public Schools” and “Separation of Church and State”. That last one tells how they have taken the original intent of keeping the government out of the church’s business and twisted it to keep the Christian faith out of the public arena. It is very interesting.

Glad you wrote this Greg. God Bless.

  3. Four years ago, James Dobson, Chuck Colson, and many other church leaders implored Christian America to vote, and not allow Obama into the presidency. The more I read blogs, and the comments that follow, I now understand why Obama was elected. People don’t know that as the king goes, so goes the nation. blog comments by many reveal no foundation for their beliefs. It seems as though their beliefs are a hodgepodge of world religious views…with no judgment. Whereas I do not like to hear the “judgment” word, the reality is, from Jesus’ final words to His disciples, today was planned. There will be an end. Dru is right, every Christian value will be underminded, and twisted to make believers evil and secular good. We must stand, but we all must know the foundation we stand on. Pray, walk in love, in unity, and in the Spirit. We have been sheltered from persecution, that has ended. 176,000 Christians were martyred in 2010, this may be in America’s future
