What is the rapture?
The rapture is when Christ will come back to take His Church, as he promised. He will the take the Church into Heaven. What is His “Church”, exactly? It’s every person on the earth that is saved, and every child too young to make that important decision.
The most common mistake is thinking of the rapture as something that is going to happen in a couple hundred years or more. Although this may very well be the case, since, in 2 Peter 3:8 (NIV), we see that “…with the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years is like a day”. So it’s impossible to say whether the rapture will occur in five minutes, in five years, or in five hundred years. However, I sincerely doubt the last one.
This is a great article concerning the rapture of Christ’s church written by christrocks from The Teen Theme. This is well written and an interesting post. I think it is worth reading even if you do not agree with everything in this article.
