TRICK TO BEING CONTENT IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES

Dear Reader,

I can’t imagine the loneliness Ms. Keller felt as a child.  Alone in a dark place where no sound or sunbeam could penetrate her world, except God of course.

It is when we accept our circumstances and agree to let God direct them that contentment begins.  Pray for change if you feel led to do so.  God always wants us to ask for help and to depend on Him.  Prayers are our means of communication with a Father who lives in another realm.

For me, I am thankful for the lessons He is teaching me about being content.  With a content heart, no matter my circumstance, I gain power over the enemy.  When the devil reminds me of all the losses I suffered this past year, with a content heart, they are powerless over my state of mind.

I had my dream house and now I am in a more humble home.  How do I find contentment with this situation?  I focus on the positive.  This house is very easy to clean and only 2 minutes from my church.  I hear church bells play hymns 2x a day and I get the challenge of designing another prayer garden.

I am not saying that on occasional a twinge of jealously never appears when I see friends in their lovely homes and new cars.  I AM saying that this is the position God wants me in, at least for now.  Laying up eternal treasure needs to be my focus.

Are you suffering from discontent?  Have you lost something of value and want it back?  Did you have to surrender up something you loved?  I can say yes to all of these questions.  Yet, by finding the good in each situation I ease the pain of each loss and act of surrender.  I encourage you to look at things with a cup half full attitude rather than one half empty.  It will loosen the power the devil has over you.
1 TIMOTHY 6:6
But godliness with contentment is great gain.
