If you are a believer you know we live in a fallen world. Unholy things occur, like the slaughter of teachers and kindergarteners. Schools and children are no long off limits to murders. Teachers did not sign up for soldier duty but I know their hearts are that of a mother and as protective as mama bears. They would/did not think twice about giving up their lives for those entrusted to them.
We may be questioning God’s purpose in this recent massacre but right now I have to stand on faith and faith alone. I can’t justify such a horrible act. It was pure evil. I have the faith to believe that God has the power to turn what satan has meant for evil into something good. That is how God works. HE is in charge. Yes, our Lord may have permitted this event but He did not cause it. We need to hold back our bitterness and JUDGEMENT of HIM and stand on our faith, believing in the goodness of God. The Word tells us to be angry but warns us not to sin in our anger. It is ok to be angry at this evil situation and the seemingly senseless loss of life. God gave us emotions. He supports a righteous anger.
Just as in the fairy tale RUMPELSTILTSKIN, God will spin the straw into gold. We don’t know how He does it, but He will.
PSALM 4:4 The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
GENESIS 43:23 ”It’s all right,” he said. “Don’t be afraid. Your God, the God of your father, has given you treasure in your sacks; I received your silver.”
PSALM 4:4 In your anger do not sin; when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent. Selah
ECCLESIASTES 3:11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.
