PSALM 35:18
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
We find many references to the ‘heart’ in the Bible. First, in Matthew 15:19 the heart is described as, “The seat of human depravity, a place where sin comfortably sits. It can defile the whole circuit of man’s actions.“
However, the Bible also credits the heart as the “Sphere of Divine Influence.” The heart is where human desires, our moral nature, grief, conscience, affections, purpose, will, faith, and intentions rest. My what a mighty organ!!
When a struggle or a loss causes what the world recognizes as, “a broken heart,” recovery can be achieved, but it often requires time and faith. The breaking of the heart achieves many purposes. Usually there is a stronger faith, a deeper love, more evident perseverance, and a greater identity in Christ as a result of the breaking.
When your heart breaks, God will not let it remain broken. He is a healer. He will hold the beautiful pieces in His mighty hands and bring them together so that they are even more beautiful and whole. Out of the shattered shards will come blessed things, if you let God do the mending.
PROVERBS 4:23 Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.
MARK 11:23 “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.
