“Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the Lord. The Lord shall bless thee out of Zion: and thou shalt see the good of Jerusalem all the days of thy life. Yea, thou shalt see thy children’s children, and peace upon Israel.”
What a blessing that would be.
You say, “Pastor, I feel so inadequate.” Well, so do I, friend. That’s the reason I’m glad for Psalm 127:1 which says, “Except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it.”
I don’t know what kind of family you came from, and I don’t know what your background is. You can’t do anything about your ancestors, but you can certainly do something about your descendants. You can say, “Maybe I didn’t have an ideal home, but thank God I’ve got a church, a pastor and the Word of God, and I can break the cycle. And the Bible says in Psalm 128:6 I’ll see my children’s children. That is, I’m going to see the peace of God upon my children’s children—my grandchildren serving the Lord.”
