The cross is God’s way to punish sin and forgive the sinner at the same time. By having an innocent, sinless sin-bearer take that sin and carry it to the cross, we are forgiven.
Second Corinthians 5:21 says, “For He [God] hath made Him [Jesus] to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.” Jesus Christ suffered an eternity of hell on that cross.
The price that Jesus paid, only the damned in hell can begin to know, but they’ll never know, because they’re paying only for their sin. Jesus paid all the sin of all of the people for all time. If you do not know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, I pray you will ask Him to save you today.
