Some people think that work is the punishment for sin. Let’s set the record straight. God gave Adam work to do before he ever sinned. Genesis 2:15 says, “And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.” Why a garden? Because people have to eat.
People also have to have houses to live in, furniture to sit on, food to eat, and clothes to wear. When we are helping provide, process, distribute, or produce any of these types of things, we are participating with God as much as Adam was when he was taking care of the Garden of Eden.
