Some man might mistranslate the Word of God. Some might misquote the Word of God. Some might even misuse the Word of God. But His Word is absolutely, totally without error. As a matter of fact, the purity of the Bible and the purity of Jesus Christ rise and fall together.
Revelation 19:13 and John 1:14 tell us that Jesus is the “Word of God.” God gave the same name to His Son that He gave to the Bible. Jesus believed the Bible and He said, “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and these are they which testify of Me” (John 5:39).
Jesus said, “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled” (Matthew 5:17-18).
“Jots” and “tittles” were the smallest markings of the Hebrew alphabet, so in essence Jesus was saying, “Even the smallest, seemingly superfluous, elements of God’s Word are eternally infallible and significant.”
