I am currently 53% into reading the Bible in a year. I love reading Gods word, soaking up the history and the stories of great men and women of faith! Not that it has been easy to read it every day. I have always been someone who struggles with routine and structure in my life. My desire is to daily be reading the word of God and taking time out to seek God and to worship Him.
I spent a year in Michigan, USA. I gave my time to support a Chi Alpha ministry on Eastern Michigan University’s campus. This was an amazing year I learnt and grew a lot. Every week day I was praying from 7am till 8am, then I would go home and spend an hour or so just soaking in Gods presence, journaling, reading, praying. It was great, not easy, but good!
Ever feel that church is a…duty? This is a great article written by Mel over at Saved By Grace. Time with God should be good, not just a duty to be carried out. Church ought to be a place to refresh others and in so doing…we ourselves are refreshed!

A good post that goes with what you’re saying I read on another blog, media4lifeministries, Freddy Winter You might like this http://media4lifeministries.com/2012/01/20/615/
I am acquainted with this site and like it. However, endorsing Freedom From Religion is going a little far. This foundation was responsible for forcing in court the city where I live to; place a wrought iron fence around a statue of Jesus standing on the world with an inscription that reads “Christ guide us on our way”. The city also had to post a large sign saying that the city does not support the message contained therein. These people should be ashamed of themselves.
I’m confused….the operator of this site I gave you a link to did this? I didn’t know anything about that. I didn’t get out of it the same thing you did apparently. What I got out of it was that religion means rigid…and if we are all believers in Jesus Christ, the Messiah, and the Trinity, we are sisters and brothers in Christ. And, actually, the name religion is derived from a latin word that means “to bind”, or “to hold back”. That’s all that I got out of it. I didn’t get anything far out or crazy from it. So i apologize for giving you the link..I meant no offense. God bless you! 😉
No the operator of that site did not do that! Sorry for the confusion Lyn. The Freedom From Religion Foundation that he said he supports did that!! I agree with your assessment on what freedom from religion means, but that is NOT what these people are all about. The FFRF is all about the removal of anything having to do with God from the public eye. This is a link to what they did in Marshfield. http://www.ffrf.org/legal/challenges/jesus-statue-in-public-park-sold-fenced/
By the way…no offense taken. I just could not believe a Believer supported these people. Check out their site and see what they do…it is not good.
Ar you sure their church, Maranatha in California, supports that? They are spirit filled Christian…and the Pastor is best friends with Joel Rosenberg. They minister to people in the Middle East and everything. I’ve watched their church services on youtube. Are you sure there is not some mistake about the Freddy guy? He’s all about Jesus…he writes me from time to time in email and has helped me out a lot with some things.
All I can tell you is on the page of the link you sent me, this guy says he supports them. Unless I took that wrong…
