Dear Reader,
I am reading a bible study where I have been convicted about my prayer life. Too often I rush through my praises of our heavenly Father and start my petitions for myself and others. This “song” or poem is my attempt to improve my relationship with God. I want to give Him the praise and honor He deserves. It is never easy to praise God when we are feeling down but I promise, you will always feel better when you attempt the effort.
Oh, sing a song of joy dear brothers
To Jesus Christ our Lord
For He was born a mighty Savior
Our Redeemer thus was born
An infant full of power
A Ruler from on high
Was birthed in lowly manger
Such humility none can buy
Do sing a song of joy and praise to
This babe of whom we greet
Our comfort and our Ruler now
Place crowns about His feet.
Our God sent us dear Jesus
Yes, sinners all were we
So Lord, take comfort in this news
Forever Yours we’ll be
So sing a song of joy, Creation
Yes, boast of all His glory
Let mountains sing and clap their hands
Bow down and tell this story!
A King was born of virgin Mary
An angel announced the news
To shepherds, Kings, and all His people
A star, then Herod’s subterfuge
Oh, sing a song of joy dear friends
Do sing to Him with glee
Rejoice in love and praise His Name
Our sins now gone, we’re free.
