OH, HOW HE CARES FOR YOU! (So Let Him Drive)

 Trust-God-2-Care 4 U

I have had to make a lot of decisions on my own.  Never having been married, I had to learn all the things I saw my dad do for my mom. You know, changing the furnace filter, washing the car, mowing the lawn, drilling holes in kitchen cabinets and attaching pulls.  This was never fun.

As a single mother, I had to raise my adopted son on my own. My immediate family lived in a different state.  I needed to be both a mother and father.  Taking on the role as head of the household, and spiritual leader was at times overwhelming.

In reality, I did not do this completely on my own.  Every decision I made was laid before the feet of God.  With time, I learned to think of God as not only a Savior, but also a Father, Brother, Friend, and Husband.  I am a Bride of Christ.  My “husband” is an excellent provider and protector.  He encourages me and teaches me.  He gives me gifts and loves me most tenderly.  I trust Him.  He takes wonderful care of me.

Trusting God to care for me, when my future has been so unclear, is a feat beyond words. Since I tend to be a bit of a control freak, when I attempt to give anyone, even God, control of my life….. it is a big accomplishment.  The fact is I got tired of driving. It is nice to finally sit in the passenger seat and let somebody else drive for a change.  I get to look out the window and REALLY soak in all the scenery.  There is no need for me to do worry about collisions or speeding tickets because He is an excellent driver. He never gets lost and never has to ask for directions. I wish I had trusted Him to drive me around a long time ago. Well, better later than never….. Right?

Dear Reader,
When you trust and decide to let God drive, there is a natural rest that will occur.

Who is driving you around lately?  Are you in the driver’s seat or have you slipped over to the passenger side?  What about maps?  Are your frustrated and looking for clues about your future on some road map? Do you know where you are going?  Are you trying to direct God?  Are you lost and refusing to let God get you back on course and out of the dark woods?  Is your sense of direction off and is your compass broken?  If it is, let go of the wheel.  Trust Him to care for you.  He can do it.

PSALM 23:1
A psalm of David.  The LORD is my Shepherd; I have all that I need.

PROVERBS3:5-6                                                                                          Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;in all your ways submit to Him,
and He will make your paths straight.

PSALM 37:23-24
The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in Him;though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with His hand.

PROVERBS 16:9
In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps.

PROVERBS 19:21
Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.
