“For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.”- Ephesians 5:31-32
Now, wait a minute. Is Paul talking about a man and wife or about Jesus and the church? Paul is talking about both.
You see, marriage, when it is right, is one of the sweetest, most sublime things we know here on earth.
Of course, when it is wrong, it’s very wrong. I know some people who, rather than being married by a Justice of the Peace, were married by the Secretary of War. But I’m not talking about that kind of marriage. I’m talking about marriage as God intended it to be. Then, the physical relationship, the psychological, and the spiritual relationship between a husband and a wife are but an illustration of the greater spiritual relationship of Christ and the church.
Seek the Lord today on how you can be a better picture of Christ and the Church in your marriage.
