Evangelist Billy Sunday was the Billy Graham of his day. One day while he was helping take down the crusade tent, a young man came running up to him. “Are you Billy Sunday?” He said, “Yes I am.” The young man told him, “I wanted to come to the crusade, but I missed the meeting. Please tell me, what must I do to be saved?”
Sunday said, “You’re too late” and proceeded with his work on the tent. The boy replied, “Just because I missed the meeting you’re not going to tell me how to be saved?” Sunday replied, “No, you’re too late to do anything to be saved because Jesus did it all over 2000 years ago. Now you receive the finished work of Jesus Christ.”
Jesus was the wheat that went into the ground, died, and rose again to bring much fruit. It’s the law of the harvest. “For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting” (Galatians 6:8).
