People knew the treasure had been lost, but they didn’t know where the ships had gone down. One sank near Vero Beach in Ft. Pierce, Florida. Doubtless many fishing boats passed over the spot and perhaps fishermen broke a line or two while trying to pull up what they thought was a huge fish, when in reality it was part of the ship’s gold.
One day some explorers decided a ship was there. They dove for the treasure and were surprised to find that it was in water so shallow, a swimmer could have simply dove to the bottom and brought up millions of dollars in gold and silver. But they didn’t know it was there.
I believe that many of us have yet to discover the full treasure we have in Jesus Christ. In Jesus Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge! “And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the Lord is his treasure.” Isaiah 33:6
