You see, God demands absolute perfection, and none of us can provide it. That’s why we need the Gospel. That’s why we need the righteousness of God that comes by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ.
Can you say that you’ve always kept all of God’s Ten Commandments? Well, you may say, I’ve only broken one. I don’t believe that, but let’s suppose you had only broken one. Does that one sin keep you out of heaven? Well, let me illustrate my point this way:
Let’s say there is a man dangling over a fire by a chain of ten links. Nine of those links are made of forged steel and one is made of crepe paper. Is that man saved from the fire?
We are saved by grace, not by keeping the Ten Commandments. “To the praise of the glory of His grace, wherein He hath made us accepted in the beloved” (Ephesians 1:6).
