Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, “The Lord hath done great things for them.” The Lord hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad (Psalm 126:2-3).
Laughter is a gift from God. I would like your home to be such a happy place that your neighbors who don’t know the Lord will look at you and see the laughter and the joy in your home and say of you, “The Lord has done great things for them!” And one of the marks that God has done something great for us is that our mouths are filled with laughter.
I have a friend, Ken Davis, a godly comedian. Here’s what he said, “Humor is a way of saying ‘I am not ok, and you’re not ok, but that’s ok. God loves us anyway!’ ”
People who are secure in their awareness of God’s love and who have experienced His love and forgiveness are free to laugh!
