“Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, ‘Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?’ And He said to them, ‘It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority.’” (Acts 1:6-7)
The Bible says it is not for us to know the day or the hour of God’s plans for the future. But God’s Word goes on to say, “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth” (Acts 1:8).
In other words, we’re not to go around setting dates. We are to get our heads out of the clouds of prophecy and our feet on the pavement of soul-winning! Jesus Christ is coming. He was born on time, died on time, rose on time, and He’s coming again in His own time. He may seem slow, but He will never be late.
2 Peter 3:8-10a says, “But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night.”
