The problem comes as those possessions multiply on credit. Somebody has described a modern American as a person who drives a bank-financed car, over a bond-financed highway, on gasoline he’s just bought with a credit card, on his way to open a charge account at a department store, so he can fill his Savings and Loan-financed home with installment-purchased furniture.
Proverbs 15:6 says, “In the house of the righteous is much treasure, but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.”
Now friend, it’s about time we stopped buying things we don’t need with money we don’t have to impress people we don’t like. It’s about time we learn what God has to say about how to make money, spend money, save money, and give money. God wants to open the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing on you; yes, a spiritual blessing and a financial blessing!
