We have a generation today that does not even like the word sin. The word sin is out of date. About the only sin today is to call sin, sin. We want to call sin an error in judgment or a mistake, but Jesus did not die for mistakes or errors. Jesus died for sin.
Now, we live in a day of behavioral psychology where some psychologists say that we are merely the sum total of our genes and environment. They say that man is not wicked, he is just weak. He is not sinful, he is just sick. He is not evil, he is just ill. Therefore, we never really deal with the problem because we never really get to the root of the problem.
If you think that sin is merely a problem to be fixed, you are going to be looking for a cure rather than seeking forgiveness and cleansing. The only book that has the answer to the sin problem is God’s Word. Proverbs 30:5 says, “Every word of God is pure: He is a shield unto them that put their trust in Him.”
