There are a lot of folks who are doing the same thing. They are shooting themselves down because they are not making the time to slow down. They are forgetting to make stillness before God a priority—that they may really experience the serenity and quietness of God’s presence. Sometimes it’s not a sin to be quiet; it’s a sin not to be quiet.
Isaiah 30:15b says, “In quietness and in confidence shall be your strength.” Psalm 46:10 says, “Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.”Psalm 119:15 says, “I will meditate in Thy precepts, and have respect unto Thy ways.”
How much time do we take to really digest and assimilate what God has given us? If you don’t have time to do this, you are too busy! Jesus said, “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” (John 10:10). If you’re not careful, you are going to miss life while you’re looking for it.
