So many times we look at a man’s stocks, bonds, real estate, and possessions, and we say, “He is worth this or that.” You cannot measure worth by money. Godliness is worth more than a bank account.
Do you know how to find out what an item is worth? Find out what somebody will pay for it. I don’t care how much you think something is worth. Try to sell it—then you’ll know what it’s worth.
1 Peter 1:18-19 says, “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.”
Jesus died for you. You are valuable. Jesus poured out His rich, red, royal blood for you. Don’t ever measure your worth by your bank account.
Where is contentment found? Look in the Word of God: “But godliness with contentment is great gain” (1 Timothy 6:6).
