There are a lot of people who think they can walk up and glad-hand the Lord Jesus Christ, but He says, “Your sword first.” We must surrender first. Jesus is not an appeaser, and He will never make a truce with sin. Never!
1 John 3:16 says, “Hereby perceive we the love of God, because He laid down His life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.” Jesus said, “Then said Jesus unto His disciples, If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me” (Matthew 16:24).

Greg, I love your stuff! SUCH a good point! We cannot have a relationship with a Holy God on our own terms. The beauty, brilliance, and grace of God’s terms are that, the more we surrender, the more peace and joy we have.
Hi Kathy, I’m glad this blessed you. 🙂 Adrian Rogers wrote these however – not I.
Thanks for setting me straight. 🙂
I just don’t anyone thinking I wrote these devotions, that would be wrong. 🙂
It’s a bit confusing: I see the Adrian Rogers heading on your posts, but the tagline says, “by Greg Holt.” So, if the heading is there, then it’s Adrian Rogers’?
Yes these are ALWAYS Adrian Rogers devotions. That was why I included the picture of him at the top of the post.
Ahh. I wondered if his was a heading/group under which you wrote. Again, thank you for the clarification. 😊 And, thank you for reposting his writings.. He has exceptional insight.
Yes he does. God bless you Kathy.
