Second, you must surrender yourself to God by saying something like, “Dear Holy Spirit of God, You are the Spirit of Grace. You are the Spirit of supplications. Pray in me, through me, with me. Guide and energize my prayers.”
Third, you are to pray in the will of God. When you are saved and spirit-filled, then you are going to pray in the will of God. 1 John 5:14 says, “And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask any thing according to His will, He heareth us.”
When we pray in the Spirit, we are praying in the will of God because the Holy Spirit of God is not going to guide you to pray for anything that is not the will of God. If you pray for something in the Spirit that is not the will of God, the Holy Spirit intercepts what you are saying and says, “That may be what he’s asking, but this is what he needs.”
