Relying on the Holy Spirit

And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, ‘which,’ He said, ‘you have heard from Me; for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.’”  Acts 1:4-5


Jesus told the disciples to tarry until they were endued with power from on high. But we don’t need to tarry. The Holy Spirit has already come. We don’t need to say, “Oh God, send Your Spirit.” He’s sent His Spirit. That would be like praying, “Oh God, send Jesus to die on the cross.” No, He has died on the cross. Calvary’s an accomplished fact. Pentecost is an accomplished fact. What we need now to do is to receive the promise.
