Justin Trudeau Resigns as Canada’s Prime Minister

By Greg Holt

Justin Trudeau’s leadership, if it can be called that has led to a country besieged with many problems.  To be fair, not everything is Trudeau’s doing, but his policies have definitely exacerbated the country’s issues.   This is not exactly a surprise, any country with a liberal leftist leader(s), is going to have problems, more to the point, their “leadership” always results in nationwide economic issues.

While nationalized free health care is a great idea on its’ face; that is without looking any deeper than the tantalizing promises – it is and always will be a colossal failure, a deep and never-ending money-pit.

Canada has a taxpayer financed healthcare system, meaning that most healthcare is free to its citizens.  There are serious problems with this plan:

  • There are long wait times for health services, especially if one needs to see a specialist.
  • People have died while waiting for much needed healthcare.
  • The government regulates the quality and availability of any and all healthcare.
  • About 6.5 million Canadians do not even have regular access to a primary care physician.
  • The tax burden on the citizens of Canada is quite high, thus driving up other economic costs.

Nationwide free healthcare does not pass the sniff test, here’s looking at you, the people of the United States that think this is a good idea.  A system that was meant to solve problems actually created even more problems.

Since leftists everywhere never seem to learn their lesson, nor do they seem able to remember history (Specifically their own), the leftist leadership of Canada decided to implement a national child-care programme.  This daycare program was of course funded through tax dollars, adding to the burden of the country’s already stressed tax payers.

The cost of housing in Canada is high and skyrocketing ever higher, especially in bigger cities.

Canada also, unsurprisingly suffers from high inflation.

It strikes me that liberals everywhere cannot get a firm grasp on basic economics, let alone the more advanced theories.

A country cannot charge its’ citizens a high tax rate and expect good things to happen, nor can a country just print more money, it does not work that way.  Sure, nationwide services sound good in principal, but these services have to be PAID for, they are not free.

High taxes cause companies to raise their prices for goods sold in order to cover their increased costs and maintain profits.  Then the workers feeling the pinch as their dollars don’t go as far as they used to, and as their paychecks are smaller because they have to pay more taxes – these folks understandably want a pay-raise to help offset the difference in cost brought on by high taxes etc.  IF companies grant the pay increases, they then raise prices of their goods AGAIN to cover the increase in wages.  This would be why places like McDonalds charge such high prices for their food, the money to pay the workers $14.00 – $17.00 an hour (Maye more depending on location) has to come from somewhere, and it isn’t going to come out of the pockets of the business owner.

One need only look at any country that has nationwide liberal policies to see how well these policies do NOT work.  Liberalism often leads to socialism, and that never works, period.  There ae plenty of people in the US Democratic Party that desire to have a much more socialist centered government (Like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez AOC).  Of course, these people all want to be party leaders, because the leadership reap most of the benefits, while the “people” get the dubious honor of paying for it, as well as suffering for it.

Canada’s woes are never going to even have a chance at being reversed until the voters decide that they have had enough and give all the liberals the heave-ho.

  1. Yes! I have a friend in Alberta Canada who has told me stories about her own difficulties getting medical care and she has medical insurance on top of it. People often have to go to the ER because they can’t get doctor appts. She herself has had to wait months for a simple appt. and even longer for a specialist. Many up there just give up. Hopefully Canada will do better.
