“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.” Matthew 5:13
Salt is a compound made of sodium and chlorine. When I took chemistry, we’d take a little sodium and drop it in water. And we’d get a very explosive gas out of that sodium: We would get hydrogen gas. And then chlorine, the other element, is a green poisonous gas.
