For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Here’s the first step in possessing your possessions: learn dying and start living. That’s not contradictory. We must start by dying to the old ways. A cross is not for wearing around your neck—it’s for dying on.
