Genesis 14:22-24
“But Abram said to the king of Sodom, ‘I have raised my hand to the LORD, God Most High, the Possessor of heaven and earth, that I will take nothing, from a thread to a sandal strap, and that I will not take anything that is yours, lest you should say, ‘I have made Abram rich…’”
Abram, rather Abraham, was a man of integrity. But how is integrity gotten? How does a man learn what is the right thing to do? Much can be taught in the home, but some things can only be learned by experience. Abraham learned to lean upon the reality of God rather than the immediate rewards of man.
