Proverbs 1:7 – “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge.”
You are on a journey. The decisions that you make, great or small, will have the possibility of having a long-term impact on you, your family, and those you influence. Each decision you make will bring you closer to end of your journey, and chances are people will remember you more in the manner you finished the journey as opposed the way you started. You will make mistakes, big ones. “Crash and burn” is inevitable on this journey. The way you recover and learn from those mistakes will have an equal or greater impact on how you finish this journey. Life’s journey will seem overwhelming. It will bog you down and create a sense of hopelessness at times. Regardless, hope is within your reach.
The source of wisdom will have an impact as well. Solomon reminds us that the beginning of knowledge is the “fear of the LORD.” Our fear of God is more than cowering and being in a dreadful state.
