“Jesus went without comfort so that you might have it. He postponed joy so that you might share in it. He willingly chose isolation so that you might never be alone in your hurt and sorrow. He had no real fellowship so that fellowship might be yours, this moment. This alone is enough cause for great gratitude!” Joni Eareckson Tada http://crossquotes.org/
Do you have a Heart of Gratitude? I challenge you to consider your perspective when trials come your way. My brain tumor caused clinical depression for ten years. I nearly died from the growth, which was undiagnosed for ten years. However, without the “thorn” of depression, I would not have the understanding I now have of the struggle to overcome hopelessness and sorrow.
Without my brain tumor, I would not have experienced the wonder of God’s healing. I was walking 1 1/2 miles (without a walker) only two weeks after this radical surgery. I have grown in my faith and learned to trust in the daily provisions of God. He is always faithful and the promises found in the Bible are true. I love roses. The thorns are just there to remind us that out of pain comes great beauty and grace.
“And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” 2 Co. 12:9 (NKJV)
