Life is not a problem to be solved; it is a mystery to be lived. And sometimes you have to back off and just simply see the hidden hand of God.
Have you ever watched an artist paint? He mixes this color and that color as he splashes colors on a canvas. And right before your eyes, you see beauty emerge.
Then the artist reaches in for another color and makes a large sweep across what you thought was a perfect painting, and you exclaim, “You ruined it! You really messed up. Let’s see how you’re going to get out of this.” But if you wait until the artist is finished, you will see the painting become a masterpiece.
Sometimes we look at what God is doing and say, “Lord, You are really doing well.” Then suddenly God throws something onto the canvas of our lives and we say, “Lord, You have messed things up. How did You let this happen?”
We must remember that just because we can’t see God working doesn’t mean that God is not working. And just because His handiwork doesn’t make sense to us, doesn’t mean it doesn’t make sense.
Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.”
