My life is to please Jesus. If I please Jesus, it doesn’t matter whom I displease. And if I displease Jesus, it really doesn’t matter whom I please. And the way to please Jesus is to obey the Lord Jesus Christ. This simplifies our service.
Have you ever decided to go out to eat? You get in the car and ask, “Where do you want to go?” The answer comes,
“I don’t know.”
You ask, “Do you want some Chinese food?”
“I don’t know.”
“You want Mexican?”
“How about …”
And the car is going every which way. You turn here, you turn there, and you’re not going anywhere. But have you ever decided before you get in the car the place you’re going to? It saves a lot of crooks and turns, doesn’t it?
You see, once you know your life is under His control, you don’t have to make so many little decisions, because you have made that one big decision. Now, it doesn’t mean you won’t need to pray and ask Him for guidance, but making Jesus your Lord is the last independent decision you’ll ever make.
