In February… there is so much talk about love… how to find your ‘valentine’… where to look… ways to be romantic…
With advertisements of hearts; flowers; chocolates… romantic gestures; loving tokens; quotes surrounding us… most of us long for the ‘perfect’ love story…
Why do we want love? Don’t find love for all the wrong reasons… to fill a lonely void or to not be alone…
In waiting, I am experiencing the unconditional love of the One who made love… Here are 2 reasons I want Christ to write my love story ~
- He is ‘The’ Matchmaker
Do you feel like everyone around you is either being struck by Cupid’s arrow… with someone… getting married. Waiting to meet someone is testing! Why not ask God to show you what He is trying to teach you as you wait?
In knowing God as ‘The’ Matchmaker… in a society and culture obsessed with romance… fairy tales… and happily ever after… it is difficult not to worry, but why not turn to Him?
- I choose to pursue Him… seeking His love… finding His approval and knowing His heart ~ knowing He is guides my every decision… my every step.. and I am right where He wants me to be…
- I choose to fix my gaze solely on Him… finding contentment in Him… seeking Him with all my heart… finding His purposes for my life ~ knowing He designed me so he created the longings and desires within my heart…
- Author of Love
Do you long for the love story that has no end… that is forever? Sometimes in the search for wanting forever, our gaze becomes distorted and we become so consumed with wanting ‘love’… that we lose ourselves in the process. Why not focus on all the qualities you long for in the person you are praying to meet ~ then, start developing those qualities in your own character first?
Christ is the Author of Love… so I want Him to always be My First Love!…
- As He is my First Love… the longing to find forever is in the hands of my Creator… not mine… so I relinquish control to the One who outshines the stars…
- As He made my heart… He can find the love that I desire beyond what I could ~ even if I tried. Instead of searching for love… I am confident that the One is my love… so I consume my heart with the unfailing love (Psalms 36:7) that will never let me go…
My final thoughts…
I have released the pen… to allow Christ, My Kinsman Redeemer to write my love story…
and chase His Love above all ~ the Only love that pursues me relentlessly… and will never stop!
I have loved you with an everlasting love— out of faithfulness I have drawn you close.
