Do you think a perfect church would be a church filled with perfect people? It wouldn’t be. There is no such thing as a perfect church, because by its very definition, the church is the body of believers. And believers are in all stages of growth.
If you are a perfectionist, then you are going to be miserable and you are going to make everybody else miserable. Why? Because nothing will ever be good enough. The fellowship will never be sweet enough. The teacher will never be prepared enough. The music will never be spiritual enough.
Jesus supplies your only perfection until you get to heaven. It is not perfection that God is looking for in His children, it is excellence. First Corinthians 15:10 says, “But by the grace of God I am what I am: and His grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.”
