While reading today a thought occurred to me:
Read the following verses slowly and carefully (without scrolling down) absorbing what these verses are saying to us. I know we have all read these verses many times, but read them with a keen eye and a greater understanding. Do these few verses suggest anything to you?
2 Timothy 3:1-4
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their
own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
Now read these verses again. I removed the word “men” in verse 2, replacing that word with the words in red type.

1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For (the people of the United States) shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
Very good description of the people of the U.S. as a whole is it not?

Yes it has, but it came to me again today – so here it is. 🙂
Glad you posted it because there are many that don’t get it.
I’m not sure how that is possible, but yes you are correct.
Of course it describes the US. But doesn’t it describe every generation in every society?
Here’s Hebrews 1:1-2. “God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world.”
The last days started on the first Pentecost, if not the first Easter. I think Paul meant the same thing Jesus meant in Matthew 24:37-39 ” For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah. For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and they did not understand until the flood came and took them all away; so will the coming of the Son of Man be.”
The day Jesus returns, he will find strictly business as usual, with humanity doing what it has always done since the fall.
Yes you are correct, however things are heating up in a big way and continue to worsen.
Yes it sounds like the people of the U.S. and it’s very sad. A country that was given everything and people chose to turn from God and turned into this. I think those that don’t ‘get it’ are the ones that are so blind and so far gone that they literally CAN’T see it.
I would add to that – those who do get it but willfully choose to ignore it, thereby making their futile thoughts correct in their own eyes.
