God Blesses Through The Tithe

Sometimes when I talk about tithing, people will say, “Well, you don’t expect that little widow to tithe her pension, do you?” I say, “Sure!” And they reply, “You hardhearted man!”
I’d be hardhearted if I didn’t teach her to tithe; I want her to be blessed! If there’s anybody who needs to depend on God, it’s that kind of person. You’re not smarter than God. Don’t you know that God knows what that little lady needs?
Another person will say, “You’re trying to take her money from her. The church doesn’t need it.” And that person is right on the second part. No, God doesn’t need her money, or anyone else’s for that matter.
But God wants to bless. He says, “Prove Me! I’ll renew your faith, I’ll rebuke your foes, and I’ll restore your fruitfulness. Your fruit is not going to fall to the ground ahead of time. I’ll make you fruitful in all that you do.”
You’ll always do more with nine-tenths and God as a partner, than you will with ten-tenths by yourself. It’s time we began to trust the Lord!
Proverbs 3:5-10 says, “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones. Honor the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.”

  1. Tithing has nothing to do with blessing. Please check out my thoughts on tithing here jesusdidnottithe.wordpress.com

    • That is incorrect. I KNOW Tithing brings blessings as I have been the recipient of said blessings myself, as well as others I have known personally.

      • It’s not true that tithing brings blessings. You just want to believe it.
What about the unbelievers who peppers and don’t tithe?
We need to recover our sound mind and stop ascribing things to what we do, rather to the goodness of God.
It is sheer arrogance to claim your tithe does everything, when God giving Jesus that has done everything.

        • Yes, I do know. I have seen the blessings that flow from tithing first-hand, some of them were mine. Unbelievers have nothing to do with this, some of them have good lives and some don’t. You are sadly mistaken and seem to be looking for an argument. I in no way claimed my or anyone else’s tithe did or does anything. It’s not about the tithe, it’s about a person choosing to give to God, to their church – no matter what. Forget the tithe for a moment, the Apostles and all with them pooled their possessions etc and shared and provided for all, what would you call that?

  2. Nice post… but permit me to disagree with you in same areas. I believe God blesses you when you obey his word at every point in time rather than following laid down laws. On tithe, I have a post on my bog I will like you to go through. http://www.paradiseathomeweb.wordpress.com

    • I don’t have the inclination to debate this with you. Tithing regardless of your thoughts on it is not wrong. I really do not understand why you and many others get so hung up on tithing. People that do so are choosing to do a good thing.

Luke 21:36 "Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man."
