“Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!” Psalm 107:31
“Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the Lord.” Psalm 107:43
It is in truth tough at times to remember the loving kindness of the Lord. When we are having a bad day, when we are tired and overworked, when nothing is going right etc.
Regardless of what is happening in our lives however, there are always reasons to be thankful and to give thanks to the One who always and at all times is deserving of our thanks, gratitude, worship, and praise.
Our circumstances in life do not change what has already been done for us. Through the grace of our God, we are saved, we are allowed to approach the throne of the Most High. It is grace through faith that saves us (Ephesians 2:8-9), and that grace had a steep cost – the life of Jesus Christ in exchange for our own.
The price of sin is death. The only death that would suffice, the one that was prescribed by God – was paid for by God, in the form of Jesus. A pretty sobering thought.
The Creator of all things including us, was willing to die for us that we may be saved from our sins and the punishment thereof. What is even more astounding is the fact that Jesus did this when we were yet His enemy.
The Lord is good and kind, even when I (we) am not.
