I rarely visit Facebook anymore as I have little use for that bastion of negativity and foolishness. That said, I was on Facebook a few days ago, and saw the following post reposted by someone I know unfortunately.
“When someone uses the word ‘illegals,’ I am done listening to what they have to say. I live in America, a nation stolen from the indigenous natives, built on the backs of slaves, & [sic] made prosperous by the sweat & [sic] blood of immigrants. ‘Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.’ My country is not white. It’s not Christian. It’s American. It’s made up of people from around the globe. Humans aren’t illegal. But your dehumanization & [sic] demonization should be.”
I won’t reveal who posted it, or where it came from. I have zero interest in “demonizing” anyone, however, I do take exception to such ignorant and foolish attitudes.
People who come here ILLEGALLY are called illegals, get over it. That’s what they are, illegal; these people have disregarded our laws, KNOWING they are crossing into our country without permission.
Does anyone seriously believe that they could simply cross the border of another country without permission in order to live there, which is illegal, and then expect a warm welcome when you are caught for having done so?
Nations have laws, laws are there for a reason, usually. Concerning NOT allowing just anyone to cross our border at any time, whenever they feel like it – there are VERY good reasons for this, to wit:
To all those who support illegals – do you REALLY want THESE people to be able to come here to our country???? Because guess what, they HAVE.
- Criminals
- Gang members, like the EXTREMELY violent MS-13
- Drug runners
- Smugglers
- Terrorists
- Murderers
- People trafficking women and children for sex and other horrid things (Organ harvesting)
- Agents for foreign countries
- Those who are sick with dangerous diseases
- People who are NOT looking for a fresh start, but rather are looking for a free lunch, which incidentally, many of them receive courtesy of YOUR tax dollars
- People who feel NO attachment to this country, but INSIST we must honor THEIR customs and their home country’s flag
- People who come here to get an American education, and then return to their own country and use what they have learned against us. YES, this has and does happen
- Other nations violent dissidents, people that these other countries are happy to get rid of
America Was Stolen
Some U.S. land was purchased from the Native Americans, and yes some of it, we (The United States) took by force, that is unfortunate, but it is also ancient history, what is done is done. I also do not see anyone who thinks that the land should be returned to the Native Americans abandoning their homes and moving elsewhere, you know, to a new country quite possibly?
The U.S. is not giving up its’ land, this is a moot point.
Then there is this: were the “Native Americans” really the FIRST people living here??? Where is the proof of this?
America Was Built With Slave Labor
America was built on the backs of slaves – this is such a stupid statement; it never ceases to amaze me that people actually believe this nonsense. This is a tactic used by the Democrats, by liberals who are looking to con people, to convince people to think the way that they do, it’s all about power and control, and it’s a LIE. The liberals want people to believe that America is the enemy, most school age children right on through the college years are taught this garbage. America and Israel, BAD. Palestine (Never existed to begin with), GOOD.
It is worth mentioning here that slavery did NOT start in America as some would have you believe. Many black slaves were sold by other black people (The Atlantic slave trade)! Free black people in the American South also owned slaves, BLACK slaves. It is also worth noting that the “Native Americans,” or Indians, ENSLAVED other Indian tribes!
History is often not what people think it is, because the so-called history that we read and/or are told about, and is taught in our schools, is rewritten to suit those who choose to deviate from what our REAL history is.
It has been said that history is written by the victor, but it can also be reliably stated that history is written (Made up, changed, outright lied about etc.) by those who desire to change a nations opinions and beliefs.
When our history, or any nations’ history is changed to reflect only the bad things that happened, and the good things were expunged from the record, how would that change your attitude and perception of this nation and our people?
“The single biggest problem with the teaching of, writing about, presenting etc., of our history, is that much of it is revisionist. In other words, what is taught is not the true story, it’s not real, it has been “edited” to present the ideals that a particular group of people, as well as individuals want to showcase. When history is changed in any way from what really happened, it is no longer history, it is propaganda.
“I’m not at all sure how many people have heard of The 1619 Project. This “project” claims to illuminate people concerning the REAL history of America, such as: our nation was founded on slavery (This is a false and devious claim). The “project” also claims to be a tool to combat black racism.”
You see, the problem with the “America was built on slavery,” narrative – is that a lot of information is left out so that people don’t know what really happened. If you did know, you would not draw the conclusions that the liberal leftists want to you too draw.
If you were to research The 1619 Project, you would come to understand that these people lied to all of us. They based the “America was built on slavery” narrative on the Jamestown settlement in Virginia, an admittedly not-so-good group of people. However, the 1619 folks COMPLETELY ignored the OTHER settlement – the Plymouth settlement in Massachusetts.
The Plymouth settlement BOUGHT the land they were on from the Indians that were there. The settlers also basically instituted the beginnings of the free market economy – in other words, work hard (For yourself), and reap the rewards.
You can read more about all of this in my article on The 1619 Project and other related matters here:
Revisionist Lies, The 1619 Project, and the History of America
America is a Global Melting Pot
It is true that the United States is made up of people from all around the world. Many of these people however came to the U.S. LEGALLY!!!! The earlier immigrants to this country, they wanted a new life, a new opportunity for themselves, they wanted to become Americans, this was THEIR home, THEIR country. These immigrants did a LOT to help transform this nation into the prosperous nation that we are today.
The problem is NOT immigrants, immigrants are people who did what it takes to come to the U.S. legally, desiring to be part of the “American Dream.” The problem is the people who come here ILLEGALLY.
The statement quoted from the above Facebook post, “Humans aren’t illegal,” is completely asinine and stupid. This is yet another leftist tactic to tug at a persons’ heart-strings, to get people emotionally hooked and involved. Of course, “humans” are not illegal, but the fact that these people cross our nations border at will, WITHOUT the permission of the U.S. government, well that is illegal.
I do understand that there are people who are simply looking to flee a bad situation, or even a dangerous situation, I feel for them. That does NOT however mean that these people should be allowed to illegally enter into the United States!
That would be like if I said that when I could no longer pay the monthly payment to the bank for my home, and said bank foreclosed on me for not keeping up with the payments (This actually did happen to me, I’m not making it up); that I should be able to keep my home even though I was unable to repay those who had lent me the money! Preposterous and ridiculous.
Reality
Nations need to be run by the rule of law, NOT by whatever emotion(s) is prevalent at the time. Emotions do not a good and prosperous nation make.
It’s fine, and even good to have a heart for others, but just as a business needs to be run to make money, our nation needs to be run to protect and serve the people who live here. Yes, I realize we have a long way to go on this front, but allowing people to enter the U.S. illegally, and then not only sheltering them after they break our laws, but then reward them with free housing, medical care, income etc., that is NOT right. It is also not in the best interests of our own people.
