Isaiah 5: 20 – “Woe to them that call evil good and good evil; who put darkness for light and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter”
I have lived a fairly long time in these United States, and quite frankly, I do not recognize it anymore. When I was a teenager, there was no such thing as gay rights or recognition of so-called “transgender” individuals who are playing “dress-up” to the detriment of their well-being. There was no call by young people to see the advantages of socialism as an economic standard for this country – never mind the fact that it’s never worked anywhere. There was no call by occultists to put up statues of Satan on public property and declare it a symbol of religious liberty.
True, there were vestiges of liberal thinking in the universities, but not like we have now. The concept of free speech is being drowned out by those who decry any other point of view that goes against their world outlook. It seems that there are more protests on college campuses than there are the concepts of education, objective learning, and inquiry that is supposed to broaden the thoughts of those who are seeking grounded pints of view. There is a tyranny of the elite brewing and implementing moral relativism, which states that there are no absolutes.
There are more demonstrations than dialogue, and the fact is that our nation sees this as the new normal. The “cause d’jour” of the moment may be dealing with subjects that at one time were not to be heard of in polite company. I don’t have to tell you that the cries of the crowd are nothing more than the threatening siren song of freedom being drowned out in favor of totalitarianism. The truth of Scripture directly identifies these people (Romans 1: 28-32) and their journey to eternal destruction in hell.
This rebellious nation, and the world thereof, is an accurate picture of what the Scriptures would say about the last of the last days (1 Timothy 3: 1-5). The only hope that anyone of us as believers have is the promise of the “Blessed Hope” (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Titus 2:11-14). There isn’t much time left. We have GOT to get out of our “comfort zones” and be bold witnesses for the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ. When He’s ready to take us to heaven, let us pray that those whom we love will not be protesting and demonstrating, but ready. As a final note, I pray for one last outpouring of God’s Spirit on this nation, but reality sinks in and I have come to realize that, as blessed as this time of grace is under this present administration, it won’t last and the forces of the coming Antichrist will have their way. In the meantime, keep looking up, brethren. Victory is in the future, and His name is the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
