I was thinking yesterday (yes that does happen on occasion) about the dark. You know, the dark as in after sunset – and that brought me to thinking of the other dark. Those who do not walk in the light of Christ are in the dark – but what IS the dark?
The dark – is all things that appose God, like Satan and evil spirits and the demons. ISIS, well they work for the dark as do many in this country. The dark saturates the U.S. and is slowly forcing out the good – and is led by our very own president.
As dismal as things are in this world due to the rampant evil that seems to be over-running it – do we need to fear the dark? The answer depends on who you trust in – yourself and the world that says anything goes, or Jesus who died to save you.
Make no mistake – evil abounds in the world today, and it will assuredly become much worse. We have seen only the tip of the proverbial iceberg thus far. Hard to believe right? But trust me on this one, better yet trust the Bible and not me. The end and events leading to the end are not going to be pretty. Evil will rule in the guise of good – and good (this is already happening) will be trumpeted as intolerant horrible evil bent on the destruction of all that people hold dear – can you say political correctness?
If you are one who trusts in self or the world, or the Divine Mother, or Energy flows, or Islam, or spirit guides – the list is almost endless. Anyway – trusting in anything other than Christ is a ticket to experiencing the second death – hell. Endless separation from God and suffering for all eternity – but I digress.
Do we need to – given the dire circumstances of the world and what is to come – do we need to be afraid of the dark (Satan)? Short answer – NO.
Am I saying we will never be afraid? No but we need not be if we are in the light with Christ. Jesus already defeated the darkness for us. Can we be hurt by the agents of evil – yes. We are loved and cared for by God, but things do happen to Believers. Sometimes to magnify the Glory of God and demonstrate He is real. The Apostles died for a God they wholeheartedly believed in, not a confused fairy tale. Many are those who have suffered beatings, loss of property, torture, and even death – all out of an iron hard loyalty to Christ and a deep seated thankfulness for Jesus offering Himself up as our sacrifice that we may be saved from our own death – due to our own sins.
Whatever happens to you – God is with you and loves you. It might not seem like it at times, but God is always with us. Never will He forsake us, never will He leave us. Forsake the world and it’s offerings, forsake the dark and it’s endless calling on your life (can you say sin?) and do NOT forsake the One who promised never to forsake you.
Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee
Psalm 91
Matthew 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell
Joshua 1:9 – Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest
Isaiah 41:10 – Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

You said it perfectly! Yes, it is easy to be afraid of the dark in this day, in this corrupt world we live in. But if we continue to keep our focus on God and trust in Him we will find peace in the midst of the darkness.
Amen. Thanks for stopping by. 🙂 God bless
