Romans 1:22-23 says, “Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and four-footed beasts, and creeping things.”
You see, it’s not a matter of intelligence, because all of us have a God consciousness. It is not a matter of intellectualism. It is a matter of morality. Psalm 14:1 says, “The fool hath said in his heart, ‘There is no God.’ They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.”
An atheist is somebody who is uncomfortable with the idea of God. So he says, “If I can get rid of this idea of God, I can get rid of this uncomfortable feeling.” But in reality, he doesn’t get rid of it down deep in his conscience. He’s like the man who bought a new boomerang and killed himself trying to throw the old one away.
