Regardless of what one does or does not believe, that doesn’t change the truth, otherwise it would not be the truth
By Greg Holt
“Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” John 17:17
(ICB) Pilate said to Jesus, “What is truth” (John 18:38). Now-a-days it is often said, “that is your truth, not my truth,” or something similar to that.
Look at these headlines:
Do a simple search for “absolute truth” – and you will see over 200 million results!
I think it’s safe to say (of course this is only my truth) that the word “truth” has become devoid of all meaning. Everyone seems to have their own version of the truth. One small problem with that, this invalidates the very meaning of truth. But whatever right? Who needs truth anyway?
There is truth (as we know it) and there is TRUTH. Absolute truth is real, unarguable, and we can and do know it – the Living Word of God. Of course this presupposes that one believes the Bible is the inerrant Word of God, and of course believes in God to begin with.
Yet regardless of what one does or does not believe, that doesn’t change the truth, otherwise it would not be the truth. The Bible told us that the earth was round, the air actually has a weight, there are mountains under the sea, and the earth itself is held in place by gravitational forces – long before man figured any of that out through science.
The Bible also predicts the future; there are many things written about in the Bible that were in doubt (like the very existence of King David and King Solomon). The more items that are dug up out of the earth, the more that things stated in the Bible are “proven” to be true.
Some people simply like to argue, and some cannot accept that they are wrong. Still others just “know” they are right, they can “feel” it.
Our entire society of today is geared to this argument concerning truth, since there doesn’t seem to be any – truth that is.
Reality is what it is, and truth is apparently whatever you make it out to be. If you think you are a god, then that is the truth. If you think that you are truly an elf in human form (don’t laugh, there is a whole group of people who think they are Elves, Dwarves and other mythical creatures etc.), then that is the truth, right?
These misled people and the better part of the world along with a substantial percentage of today’s Church as I referenced in my recent article, Lost Sheep – Blame the Church – have been sold a bill of goods by the evil one.
Satan wants no man to know the truth, because if one knows God, then one knows the truth, period. Armed with the truth, one can see exactly what is going on in this world, we are not taken in by all the lies and misdirection that is so prevalent in our nation (everywhere really).
Those who don’t know the truth, aka God – these are those who lap up what CNN and Facebook and Twitter among others feed them, as if it is the gospel truth.
The Word of God (the Bible) is the truth, and God is the author of truth, it’s that simple.
