Our sin equals a one-way trip to Hell. We ALL sin, anyone who says otherwise is a liar
By Greg Holt
“4 but as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.” 1 Thessalonians 2:4
What ever happened to the “fire and brimstone” pastors, you know the ones who fearlessly preached the Word without worrying over offending someone?
Nowadays preaching is centered on “feel-good” messages, sermons designed so as to not offend someone. Church sermons might be biblical or they might not be. The problem is that so many of today’s pastors are afraid to preach hard core biblical messages.
Preaching on Hell is not often heard anymore, telling people that if they do not trust in God, Hell is what awaits them after death; this teaching is off limits, people might be – you guessed it, OFFENDED. Better offended then spiritually dead and separated from God forever in Hell don’t you think?
It’s no different with teaching on homosexualism, lesbianism etc. (Romans 1:26-28), pastors won’t teach on these topics either. It isn’t about whacking these people over the head with the wrongness (Leviticus 18:22, Leviticus 20:13) of what they are doing, and it isn’t about hating them or an us against them attitude either.
If practicing LGBTQ people (and there are many who actually believe in God) think that they will wind up in Heaven, they are sadly mistaken (Jude 1:7). But how can anyone learn what they are not taught? Is it loving to simply turn a blind eye to these folks and say nothing?
Pastors don’t like to talk about abortion either, despite the fact that the Bible says “thou shalt not kill” (Exodus 20:13). Children are a gift from God (Psalm 127:3, Psalm 139:13-16, Mark 10:14, Matthew 18:10), I’m pretty sure God is steadfastly against abortion.
The world is all about me, everything revolves around me – unfortunately the Church at large has become tainted with this same attitude.
No one wants to be told that what they are doing is wrong. No one wants to be told that there are consequences for their actions. Our sin equals a one-way trip to Hell. We ALL sin, anyone who says otherwise is a liar.
“23 for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” Romans 3:23
God doesn’t send people to Hell, we send ourselves to Hell via our own choices and actions.
That being said, it doesn’t have to be this way. There is another choice available to us because Jesus Christ made it available to us.
If you choose to accept Jesus offer of eternal life with Him, yes you are accountable to Him (2 Corinthians 5:10), but if you do not, you are still accountable to Him (Revelation 20:11-15). Therefore, why not choose to reap the benefits of salvation?
If you spurn Christ, or you are foolish enough to trust in your own supposed goodness, then you will wind up in Hell. On the other hand, if you come to Christ and are genuinely sorry for your sin (wrongdoing) and repent of it (change your actions and even thoughts), and place your trust and belief in Jesus alone to save you – then you will go to Heaven.
You see, there are no perfect people in Heaven, there are only forgiven people in Heaven.
Your worst day(s) on earth will not even begin to compare to what awaits you in Hell, and it will not stop, not ever.
On the other hand, Jesus Christ allowed Himself to be killed, sacrificed Himself so that OUR sin can be and is – paid for. The same God that told us we have to be perfect, knew we could not be. Then He acted and paid the price He Himself had decreed for sinning.
Now all we have to do is make a choice, a choice to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and we will be forgiven our sins (Ephesians 2:8-9) and given a place beside Jesus and the Father for all of eternity.
Have you accepted God’s free gift to you yet?

From long ago I do remember the fire & brimstone preachers! I agree, where are they now! It’s time for their return, without delay! A good post!
Thank you Andy, blessings to you.
