This is really different for me, not the poetic writing; trying to anyway. What is different is that I wrote this while listening to worship music from several different people. Check it out and tell me what you think! If you have not heard the MercyMe song at the end, give it a listen.
You are the One Messiah
The living and true God
The One and Only
No matter my wandering, no matter my pain
No matter my confusion or misunderstanding
No matter any circumstance, you are the One
The church attended is of no consequence
The faith chosen inconsequential
The mode of worship unimportant
Loving the Creator, hands raised in worship…this is important
Hallelujah Jesus reigns
Hallelujah Jesus is the One
Hallelujah the One is risen and He reigns
The One Messiah is true
The Christ is He
Blessed are we to know
He calls in the dark
He offers a way
The path is paved
Steps directed by the One…who went before
We are called into the light
The blessed Messiah calls us into the Light; He is the Light
The One offers the Way
The Truth is in His hand
He lights the way with His Word
The One and Only
No one else compares, no one dares
He is our Light in the dark
He is love to our brokenness
He is a refuge to our wounded souls
Our bastion of completeness
Hallelujah He reigns
All will bow at His Great Name
Hallelujah, grace mercy and peace abound in Him
Praise His Name all you people
Praise His great Name all you who are His
The Redeemer lives
The Lamb is victorious
The sacrifice has been made
Evil is defeated
God has won
Praise to the Lord who leads us
We worship your great Name
The One Messiah reigns over all
Hallelujah…
MercyMe
You Are I AM
I’ve been the one to shake with fear
And wonder if You’re even here
I’ve been the one to doubt Your love
I’ve told myself You’re not enough
I’ve been the one to try and say
I’ll overcome by my own strength
I’ve been the one to fall apart
And to start to question who You are
You’re the one who conquers giants
You’re the one who calls out kings
You shut the mouths of lions
You tell the dead to breathe
You’re the one who walks through fire
You take the orphan’s hand
You are the one Messiah
You are I am
You are I am
I’ve been the one held down in chains
Beneath the weight of all my shame
I’ve been the one to believe
That where I am You cannot reach
You’re the one who conquers giants
You’re the one who calls out kings
You shut the mouths of lions
You tell the dead to breathe
You’re the one who walks through fire
You take the orphan’s hand
You are the one Messiah
You are I am
You are I am
The veil is torn
And now I live with the Spirit inside
The same one, the very same one
who brought the Son back to life
Hallelujah, He lives in me
Hallelujah, He lives in me
Hallelujah, He lives in me
Hallelujah, He lives in me
You’re the one who conquers giants
You’re the one who calls out kings
You shut the mouths of lions
You tell the dead to breathe
You’re the one who walks through fire
You take the orphan’s hand
You are the one Messiah
You are I am
You are I am

Very nice poetic venture. Not crazy about the MM lyrics, honestly thought your words were more meaningful in what they said.
Thank you.
Amazing Greg – what other latent talents have you got hidden away in there I wonder?? Are you going further with your song writing?
I tried writing songs at one time….It wasn’t good! I wrote this as a poetical type of thing. Check out the other ones in the same category. The real song in here is of course by MercyMe. 🙂
Thanks for the comment bruce!
God bless
Greg
