Jesus died for you – He’s not going to cast you adrift. You are His, now and forever.
“38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39
(ICB) Amazing does not even come close to describing the love God has for us, I’m not sure there are any words that can do His love justice.
Who else do you know that would have suffered severe torture, a beating, being scourged, and then crucified? If that isn’t love then what is?
Yet Jesus suffered even more than that. Jesus took upon Himself my sin, and He did the same with yours, but it didn’t stop there – Jesus also took upon Himself the sin of ALL people, throughout all time. Add to this the fact that the Father turned away from Christ when He did this. The suffering of Christ is beyond imagining.
Instead of imagining His suffering, imagine how great His love for you and I is that He would do such a thing. Can you picture it? Yeah, me neither. But we know it’s for real.
This deep and perfect love that God has for us – this love that nothing whatsoever can separate us from.
Amazing.
Give thanks to God for His love. Despite the impressive list of what cannot take the love of God from us, there yet remains one thing that can take, or maybe better, prevent us from having this love.
That one thing is us. So many do not know the love of God, because they will have nothing to do with Him. I was at one time a prodigal – I thank God that he loved me enough to actually pursue me with His boundless love.
I went a lot of places for a job I used to have. I distinctly remember driving past churches all over – and the thought, unbidden would come into my mind: “I should go in there and talk to the pastor.” That was God, He never gave up on me despite the fact that I kicked Him to the curb and walked away.
I was hard-headed, stubborn, and more than a little angry. He overcame all this and returned me to the flock.
Be thankful God loves you so deeply even if you never did walk away, because He loves you just the same way. That love is with you each and every day, and whether or not you can “feel” it has nothing to do with it.
Jesus died for you – He’s not going to cast you adrift. You are His, now and forever.
Take a few minutes today, right now – and tell God that you love Him. Thank Him for His sacrifice that you may have life, and have it freely and abundantly.
Does this sound like something you do not have but would like to?
Read the article linked to below, it will only take a few minutes – and then pray and ask Jesus into your heart accepting Him as the only way to the Father, the only way to be saved.
